frozen blueberries
Description
Frozen blueberries (Vaccinium spp.) are typically harvested at peak ripeness and frozen shortly after picking, helping preserve much of their nutritional value, flavor, and deep blue color. Because freezing slows nutrient degradation, frozen blueberries retain many of the same vitamins, minerals, fiber, pectin, and antioxidant polyphenols found in fresh berries while offering the convenience of year-round availability. Frozen blueberries are an excellent option for smoothies, baked goods, sauces, oatmeal, yogurt, and other recipes where fresh berries are not in season.
