Unpalatable to me as written, unfortunately.
I love the color and so wanted this to be the new electrolyte DIY drink I could turn to.
I used the recommended organic blue spirulina brand, and found it to be so fishy or otherwise oddly flavored my first sip I barely swallowed. I added more and more water and definitely upped the lemon juice to the full amount. My teen asked for maple syrup to sweeten, then only drank 1/4.

Will need to go back to the drawing board on this one. Maybe use half the amount of spirulina? If someone finds a truly lower flavored or unflavored brand, please post here. Unfortunately, already spent $20 on this brand also, so hopefully there will be other places to use it.

Well it wasn't what I expected. The coconut water I purchased was tasteless, maybe that had something to do with it. I will go back to the drawing board on this recipe . I used POM blueberry juice in place of the lemon juice and found it to be delicious.

I am going to try this recipe today. I am wondering if cactus water can be substituted for coconut water.

Thank you for this. I was recently reminded again how much I dislike commercial electrolyte powdered mixes regardless of the alleged quality. The new ones I just spent fortune on aren’t any better than the ones I tried years ago, and they cost even more.
This recipe is perfect. And it got me to use the Blue Majik spirulina powder I had on hand. I didn’t add the mag glycinate but will try that next batch. I made half a batch in a quart jar and shook it up.
Wonderful addition to the beverage menu. Thanks again Ali!

This is amazing. All the family really likes this and my husband kept requesting it while working in the yard. Thank you for this recipe. We used spirulina because a small bottle of the blue green was $50.00 at our store.
Will most definitely be keeping this on hand all summer. PS it just feels really good after drinking it. Thanks again.
