Strawberry-Banana Almond Milkshake
Soaking almonds overnight makes them far more digestible and unlocks many of their nutrients. This is what happens when you plant a seed in the earth and then water it—it wakes up and prepares to germinate, unlocking its nutrients for use in growing into a plant. Serve this smoothie as a snack or as a light breakfast.
The almonds need to be soaked in a bowl of water for 8 to 10 hours before preparing this recipe. In the morning be sure to drain off the soaking water and rinse well in a colander.
½ cups raw almonds (soaked overnight)
2 cups water
1 medium frozen bananas
2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
¼ teaspoons raw vanilla powder (optional)
