Spicy Butternut Squash Stew

3 teaspoons cumin seeds
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 large onions chopped
6 cloves garlic crushed
1 teaspoons dried oregano
½ teaspoons cinnamon
1 pinches cayenne pepper
1 jalapeño peppers seeded and finely diced
2 small butternut squash peeled, seeded, and chopped (8 cups chopped)
15 ounces fire-roasted crushed tomatoes
2 cups water
1¼ teaspoons sea salt
